11/15/2011 Our November Newsletter focuses on the process of creating custom Auto-Motion vocal patterns in Auto-Tune EFX 2.

While Auto-Tune EFX 2 comes with over 65 built-in Auto-Motion patterns in a variety of styles, one of it's most powerful features is the ability to create your own custom patterns. While the process might at first glance seem a bit intimidating, particularly if you're not familiar with standard music notation, it's actually quite simple and, dare we say it, quite a bit of fun. Check out the details here.

9/27/2011 We are pleased to announce the availability of Auto-Tune EFX 2, the next generation of the quickest, easiest, most affordable tool for real-time pitch correction and creating the Auto-Tune Vocal Effect. Now with Auto-Motion™ Vocal Pattern Generation.

Powered by the same core technology as Antares' professional standard Auto-Tune 7, Auto-Tune EFX 2 is the quickest, easiest-to-use tool for real-time pitch correction and creating the iconic Auto-Tune Vocal Effect. And now, with its new Auto-Motion™ Vocal Pattern Generation, you can add a variety of intricate musical patterns to your track for an entirely new (and sonically dramatic) vocal effect.

Designed to make almost everything automatic, Auto-Tune EFX provides two different flavors of the Auto-Tune Vocal Effect as well as Antares' world-renown real-time pitch correction. Just select your desired effect type, set the key and scale of your track, and Auto-Tune EFX does the rest. For songs with complex chord progressions or modulations, you can optionally set up custom scales or use your host's automation facility to allow the processing of virtually any vocal line.

New in Auto-Tune EFX 2 is Auto-Motion Vocal Pattern Generation. Auto-Motion takes advantage of Auto-Tune's superb pitch-shifting ability to add intricate musical patterns to a vocal performance. Patterns are selected from a built-in (and expandable) library in a variety of styles and can be synced to your host's tempo at various beat divisions. At any point in your vocal track, simply click the Auto-Motion Trigger button to send your vocal on a melodic adventure.

Learn all about Auto-Tune EFX 2, download a fully functional 10 day trial version (iLok required), and then head over to your local Antares dealer to pick up your copy.

12/10/2010 Congratulations to our friend, producer and remixer Morgan Page, for his Grammy nomination for Best Remix for his remix of Nadia Ali's "Fantasy," featuring heavy use of Harmony Engine on the lead vocal.

According to Morgan:

"Harmony Engine played a major role in the remix. The song was originally more of a pop ballad, so I wanted to give it a new life and identity that was faithful to the original, but stood on its own legs. I used Chord Degrees to provide a minor triad in the background, tuned to the root note. The Harmony Engine chords remain the same throughout the song, almost acting like a chordal drone. It added to the melancholy.

"A lot of times you worry about burying the lead vocal, but with the right elements, it can lift the lead to new heights. Harmony Engine is also a useful tool if you don't like the harmonies provided in a remix or original, if you want to change keys, or simply use more of the stereo image in the mix.

You can listen to Morgan's Grammy-nominated remix here.

8/24/2010 The X Factor, reportedly Britain's most popular TV show, is a talent contest similar in concept to our own American Idol. While those of you in the UK are no doubt already all too aware of the furor surrounding last Saturday's episode of X Factor amid accusations (since confirmed) that the producers used Auto-Tune on some contestants' performances, for those in the rest of the world, we thought you'd enjoy seeing some of the media this "scandal" has generated.

The BBC covers the initial controversy here.

Our very own Dr. Andy was interviewed on BBC Radio. Listen here (Jump forward to 36:25 for the Auto-Tune segment.)

Britain's Channel 4 News has also produced an entertaining overview:

Whether it's audio examples of your music, videos of performances, or photos of your studio setup, you can easily share with other community members (as well as those of us here at Antares). You can also communicate with other members by posting comments on their home page walls or sending private messages.

So, if you're an Antares user, or are just thinking of becoming one, take some time to look around. Then join us. And be vocal.

4/1/09 We have today announced our intent to start thinking about the possible development of our revolutionary new Direct Mind Access (DMA™) musical composition technology. Designed to free would-be composers, songwriters, musicians, and drummers from the tedious study and practice that have traditionally been required for the development of musical skill, DMA technology will allow anyone to transfer the music (or voices) they hear in their head directly to any DMA-compliant DAW.

Read all about it here.

2/22/09 We've created an Antares Page on Facebook, as well as a dedicated Auto-Tune Page. If you've got a Facebook account, drop by, say hello, and become a fan.

2/13/09 Continuing months of unprecedented coverage of Auto-Tune in the mainstream media, the current (February 16th) issue of TIME Magazine features an extensive article by TIME's assistant managing editor and music critic, Josh Tyrangiel. Featuring quotes from interviews with producer Rick Rubin, and our own inimitable Dr. Andy, the article provides yet another perspective on why Auto-Tune has become what is probably popular culture's single most well-known piece of music production technology.

You can read the article here.

In addition to the magazine story, TIME and Tyrangiel have produced a podcast that combines the information from the article with musical examples from artists like Cher, Kanye West, and more. You can download the podcast from the iTunes Music Store or download or listen to an mp3 version here.

1/27/09 We've posted Auto-Tune Vocal Effect and pitch correction demos for Auto-Tune EFX. Check them out.

1/2/09 The New Year is here, and with it comes expanded availability of Auto-Tune EFX. Auto-Tune EFX will now be available at authorized Antares dealers worldwide.

Learn all about Auto-Tune EFX, download a fully functional 10 day trial version, then purchase your copy from your local Antares dealer or our online store.
